HOW TO CHECK JAMB 2017 CAPS ACCEPTANCE STATUS

nsukguide.com

HOW TO CHECK JAMB 2017 CAPS ACCEPTANCE STATUS

This is to inform JAMB 2017 admission seekers that JAMB have activated the 2017 caps admission checker portal to enable 2017 UTME candidates to check if their choice of institution have offer them admission.

WARNING:
Do not click on the ACCEPT button until the institution you applied for has released its admission list and your name is on the list.

Those who click on the ‘ACCEPT’ icon, your action implies that you have accepted the course and institution choice, so you won’t be placed in the JAMB proposed CAPS market place peradventure you were not later offered provisional admission in your school of choice.

Therefore, everyone is implored to wait for their institution of their choice to release her admission list which on release changes your CAPS admission status which still shows ‘Not Admitted’ to ‘Admitted’ then you accept if you want and ‘DECLINE’ if you don’t, but if by then it still shows NOT ADMITTED, then you will be placed in the CAPS MARKET PLACE waiting for schools that couldn’t meet up with their admission quota to admit you on request.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR CAPS ADMISSION STATUS

1.visit the jamb caps admission status checks via the link below

2.login with your jamb registration number

3.click on the submit button on the left side to view caps admission status.

Report has it that, most candidates saw the ‘Not admitted’ notification on their CAPS portal which simply means that they have not been offered provisional admission at their institution of choice, So therefore you are all advised not to click on the ‘ACCEPT’ icon until your admission status changes to ” ADMITTED”, clicking on the ‘ACCEPT’ icon simply means you’ve accepted a non- existent admission.

By the time your school of choice releases her admission list, you will not only see the “ACCEPT” icon but also a ‘DECLINE’ icon . You are enjoined not to click on the ‘ACCEPT’ icon until you receive an admission notification from your institution of choice.

Please note, To those who might have clicked on the ‘ACCEPT’ icon, your action implies that you have accepted the course and institution choice, so you won’t be placed in the JAMB proposed CAPS market place peradventure you were not later offered provisional admission in your school of choice.

Lastly, for those who might have already clicked on the ‘ACCEPT’ icon, all you could to help is by praying and hoping that you get admitted into your school of choice because you have automatically disqualified yourself from being returned to the CAPS market place if you were not later admitted.

BREAKING: SSANU, NASU, NAAT Suspend Industrial Action

nsukguide.com

BREAKING: SSANU, NASU, NAAT Suspend Industrial Action

The non-teaching staff unions of Nigerian government universities under the umbrella of the Joint Action Committee (JAC) have suspended their industrial action.

JAC comprises members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU), and the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT).

National President of the three unions, Sam Ugwoke, announced the suspension at a media briefing on Thursday in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

The decision followed the agreement reached with the unions by the Federal Government, after eight hours of negotiations since last night.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, who led the Federal Government delegation at the meeting, gave assurances that the government has agreed to address all 12 issues raised by the striking workers.

The strike was suspended two weeks after the unions declared a “total and comprehensive” industrial action.

Some of the demands of the striking workers include the immediate payment of earned allowances and a review of the universities governance system among other issues.

The decision is a welcome development for stakeholders in the education sector, as well as students of government-owned universities as the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had also suspended its strike with conditions.

ASUU’s decision was announced by its president, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi, on Monday in Abuja after a reconciliation meeting with a Federal Government team.

Professor Ogunyemi had explained that the suspension was conditional, as it depends on whether the Federal Government would fufil its parts of the agreements.

How To Identify A Scam Interview Invitation

nsukguide.com

I have seen so many peoples complaining and lamenting their ordeal in the hands of fake scam companies who invite people for interview only to introduce them to fake drug marketing business.
I'm doing this not only because these companies waste people's time, energy and T-fair going to such interviews, but also because most of these scammers extort money from hapless job seekers thereby making their suffering times two.

Imagine a scammer extorting #10,500 from a graduate who have been unemployed for years, not to talk of the transport fare wasted going to such fruitless interviews or job chat as they usually call it.
Some people even borrow money to pay these sheep in wolves clothing, who promise them heaven on earth. Some will tell you that you will make half a million within 1 month and all that. If you're not careful, you will take a loan that you will not be able to repay thus causing embarrassment and lack of rest of mind. An unemployed person should have only himself to worry about, not having debts also.

So I believe that if we are properly guided, we will not fall into the hands of these scammers.
Having said that, there are ways by which one can identify a fake or scam interview invitation and there fore avoid such waste of time and money. The good thing is that most of their messages come in the same format, so you will know its fake!

1. The message does not bear a company name: most of these scammers won't include their names on the message you will receive. All you will see are the address, the time and date and a phone number. A genuine company will not hide its identity from a potential employee.

2. The message will say "interview/job briefing": whatever job briefing means I don't know!
3. You will see a code or reference: something like "HR=0056" or "REF=002". This is an indication of the code number of the person who invited you to the "job briefing".
4. It will contain a phone number: this is the number of your referer. Most genuine companies don't give phone numbers.
5. You will see HR Admin in the message instead of company name
6. If you call their number, they will be reluctant to give info on the company.

And pls, ignore those people sharing job flyers on the streets, and those ones they paste on walls. Those are scammers and some ritualists too. And also most of these so called agencies are avenues for duping unsuspecting job seekers. Pls shine your eyes well well.
I will post the names of some of these fake companies/ agencies later.

Pls if you have any experiences inthe hands of these scammers kindly share it here so that others can learn and avoid them too. Thank you

Cheers!

BREAKING: ASUU suspends strike, directs lecturers to resume
By: Tony Akowe

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has conditionally suspended their five weeks old strike embarked upon to press for the implementation of agreements reached with the government. It directed its members to return to the classroom with immediately.

President of the Union, Professor Biodun Ogunyemi who addressed a news conference at about 9.30 pm Monday night after another round of meeting with the government delegation led by the Minister of Labour, Senator Chris Ngige, directed all members of the union to return to work after their branch congresses on Tuesday.

He said they decided to conditionally suspend the strike action in view of the timeline of October 2017 for the implementation of the signed agreement.

He said that the union will not hesitate to resume the suspended action if the government renege on the signed agreement which he called Memorandum of Action, adding that the signed agreement was backed by a definite timeline for implementation.

He warned that the government must not deliberately dishonor the agreement, pointing out that the continuous breach of signed agreement has been responsible for the constant strike action in the Universities.

Ogunyemi said that the current agreement with the government is based on mutual trust between the union and the government, adding that the trust of the union must be respected by the government.

The meeting which started about 4.00pm was supposed to last for about one hour, but dragged for about four hours before agreement was reached on All contending issues.

Briefing Journalist earlier after the meeting which ended at about 7.55pm, Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige said all the gray areas have been sorted out and an agreement reached.

He said that members of the union had insisted that they were tired of having agreements that are not implemented, pointing out that the content of the agreement was taken from the series of meeting with the union since the commencement of the strike.

He said further that that both the government and the union understood themselves and agreed in several issues, assuring that the agreement reached will be implemented by the government in line with available resources.

Areas of agreement include funding for revitalization of public universities and the issue of Earn Academic Allowances, the issue of University Staff Schools and the implementation of the judgement of the National Industrial Court, National Universities Pension Management Company and guidelines for pension matters for Professors.

He also said that the union agreed to the exemption offered by the government regarding the issue of TSA, which include the issue of grants, endowment fund as well as salary short fall which he said is already being implemented by government.

On the issue of state universities, he said they agreed that the union will submit a position paper to the federal government on their observation with a view for government to advise state government on the funding of state universities.

He describe the union as patriotic members of the society, pointing out that anybody who demand better working equipment is no doubt a patriot.

ASUU STRIKE: ASUU; Govt to hear from us within 24hours after Monday’s successful meeting
By Simon, Markus Yila [19/09/2017] 9:58pm

After a long meeting between the Federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, the Nigerian university teachers have accepted the proposal of government but  has asked to be given until Tuesday for words on ending their strike.

The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Biodun Ogunyemi,  stated this after the fifth open negotiation meeting with representatives of government, which lasted about four hours today in Abuja.

He said the government will hear from them within 24 hours.
“Our members are waiting for us currently at the Labour House, so you will hear from us within 24 hours,” Mr. Ogunyemi said.

“In the spirit of patriotism, we can work collectively for the improvement of the education sector,” he added.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, said both parties had come to the end of deliberation on the matter.

“We have made lots of progress and agreed on the Union’s demands and we produced what we called ‘Collective Agreement of Action’ but ASUU calls it Memorandum of Action because they want implementation,” he said.

Steps Involved In Writing A Good Blog Post

One quality of a good blog is a good topic. A blog post is sometimes what determine the readers durability on your blog or website. Choosing a topic to write on is the first and foremost step to take. After deciding which topic to write on, you can then proceed to the following steps.
Note: Don't use freehost. there are many reason Why You Should Not Use a Free Hosting For Your Blog and topics you chose to write on should be related to your blog's niche.
Here are the steps involved in writing a good topic:

Researching on the topic

The topic chosen by you must be well researched on. This is an essential part of writing a good content.
The impression you are trying to make here is to let your readers see you as an expert, which is why you need research to gather your facts, ideas and examples. Research shouldn't take much time if you know what you are looking for and how to look for it . You can use search engines to research your blog post. Amazon can also be of help, as i heard its one of the best for researching blog post niche.

The title of the topic

The title of your topic must be very short, attractive and related to the subject matter or the content. "keep the title short and on topic" . Some post have a good content but the title is either off topic or too long.
Using this post as an example, i can draft out at least 3 suitable titles;
* Five steps needed when writing a good topic
* How to write a good topic for your blog
* Steps involved in writing a good blog content

The content

Having found the suitable title for your article/post, and after doing enough research, the next step is to write on your subject matter based on what you have researched. This is where the real work comes in. The subject matter (content) should be well explanatory, so your readers can understand easily.
The content should also contain images, videos or other ways of visual representation (if necessary) for better understanding.
You can also include relevant or related links at the middle of the content.
Remember! that you are not the first and won't be the last that will write on that topic, which is why you have to make your content unique (different from what others have written).
TIP: Content sometimes determine the durability of readers on your blog

Visual representation

The use of images, videos etc helps readers a lot. Some explanation are better done visually. When writing your content, don't forget to include necessary images/screenshots related to the information you are trying to pass across to the readers. The use of visual representation make readers quickly assimilate and recollect because some readers in our century can hardly memorize two or three lines of written text but can summarize a season film without watching it twice.
TIP: You can also make tutorial videos(if necessary)

Proof Reading

After you're done writing your content, you should proof read it as many times as possible to correct mistakes that might have occurred.
If you are not that good at proof reading, you can hire a proof reader or you can pass it to two or three friends of yours to proof read it for you.
TIP: Beware Of Article Ripper Disguised As a Proof-Reader.
